The Shippers’ Voice and European Shippers’ Council join to make the perfect match
18 September 2006
Dr Andrew Traill, having recently established The Shippers’ Voice Ltd., has joined forces with the European Shippers’ Council. Dr Traill, who recently left the UK’s Freight Transport Association to set up his own venture as a freight transport specialist, has taken up a contract with the European Shippers’ Council to provide assistance and advice on key policy issues for the Council.
Speaking about the new arrangement, ESC Secretary General Nicolette van der Jagt, said ‘Andrew will bring to the ESC many years of experience and knowledge across a wide range of issues that affect shippers. He has worked closely with me and the ESC in the past and has established a reputation throughout the international freight transport industry as a true ambassador representing shippers in aviation, shipping, rail and security issues. ‘
With Andrew onboard I am confident the shippers’ voice will become even clearer and more influential in the many areas that confront and challenge industry’s logistics and supply chains in the months and years ahead.’
Dr Traill commented ‘I am delighted to be able to retain the strong ties with the ESC that I had established prior to my setting up The Shippers’ Voice. The ESC is a great organisation, often hugely underestimated by the freight industry, and often the unsung hero, that has achieved significant policy successes and developed best practices that help industry reduce costs, increase efficiency, and avoid unnecessary bureaucratic red tap.
Working together I believe we can create a louder and even more effective voice for shippers everywhere. I am confident that The Shippers’ Voice and the ESC will complement each other and be the perfect match.’
