Organisation

The Swedish Shippers' Council is the organisation for cargo-owning transport users in Sweden and was founded in 1966. All cargo-owning members of federations of Swedish Industries and Trade are automatically also members of the Swedish Shippers' Council.

Objectives

Our objective is to strengthen the competitiveness of Swedish trade and industry by creating as favourable conditions as possible for transport and efficient supply chains within the country as well as over and outside the borders.

Activities

To actively influence and force all instances both in Sweden, in EU and internationally within in the society - government, authorities, politicians and others - who decides on transport and transport related matters to come to solutions favourable for the industry. To influence the producers and providers of transport services - public or private - to adjust their rules and behaviour to the needs of the market. To act as a network for exchange of information and experiences among the members.

Partnership with ESC

The European Shippers' Council is a strong organisation for carrying through the voice and opionions of the European transport users. The Swedish Shippers' Council takes an active part in ESC's work and regards ESC as its main channel and best tool to approach and influence EU and other European institutions.

Deregulation of all transport markets is the most important goal for Swedish industry. ESC has and will continue to be a driving force to achieve that goal.
